Banding Day
05/20/10 09:30 PM
Today was banding day at the local eagle nest. This
year there is only one eagle in the nest.
Dad on the nest before the banding team arrived.
Climber entering the nest, eaglet had this surprise look. Note all the flies.
Here is a link to a video showing the ‘bagging’ of the eaglet in the nest by the climber.

Based on the age of the eaglet with a weight of 7 1/2 pounds and the shape of the beak Bill Davis thought is eaglet is a female. The eagle was banded with a MA. State band “D6” and a Federal band “0066”
